The Jewish New Year is upon us. Beginning at sundown on Monday, September 22, 2025, and observed through nightfall on Wednesday, September 24, Rosh Hashanah beckons us into reflection, aspiration, and transformation.

The Significance of Rosh Hashanah:
Rosh Hashanah is not merely the turning of the calendar. It is the “Head of the Year” — the moment where G-d, as King, is proclaimed and reaffirmed. It is a time when all of creation stands in judgment, and each person is invited to accept the yoke of Heaven — to make choices from a higher place.

The Lubavitcher Rebbe taught that these days set the spiritual trajectory for the year to come: how we pray, how we relate to others, how much light and goodness we allow to enter our lives — and to shine through us.

Traditions to Inspire Deeper Meaning:

  • Hearing the shofar in the synagogue — letting its call stir the soul.

  • Celebrating with sweet symbolic foods — apples dipped in honey, round challah. Reminders that, although the past may have been bitter, the future can be sweet.

  • Acts of repentance and return (teshuvah) involve reflecting on where we have missed the mark, seeking forgiveness, and making amends.

  • Giving tzedakah, caring for others, strengthening community.

SoulLinks’ Role & Call to Action:
Here at SoulLinks, we strive to embody these values: compassion, service, and spiritual connection. Whether through our outreach to first responders, chaplaincy, counseling, or community building, every moment is an opportunity to bring light into someone’s life.

As we enter 5786, I encourage you:

  1. To join in synagogue, feel the power of communal prayer.

  2. To make at least one meaningful spiritual resolution.

  3. To give — of time, resources, or kindness — so that others who serve may also be supported.

  4. To partner with SoulLinks financially, enabling us to continue this vital work. www.soullinks.org/donate

May this Rosh Hashanah be a gateway to your most radiant year yet. May you and all those you love be inscribed and sealed in the Book of Life, for goodness, for peace, for purpose.

Shanah Tovah U’Metukah —
May 5786 bring sweetness, strength, and spiritual awakenings.
